Obama: Fulfilling the Promises?
Image by patrick dentler via FlickrI wrote a couple of weeks ago about the elction of Barack Obama and what it could mean regarding any green issue. I just found this article that shows the commitment that the president-elect is willing to take in terms of environmental policy. I know it may sound naive, but if he only does half of what he says, that would be such a massive step in terms of environmental policies.

A Green Social Network

Social Networks are great to share, learn and meet new people. So for our green activities we could use this new social network, Greenwala. Here are their words to describe themselves: "Greenwala is a community where you can learn and brag about being green, read articles, write blogs, post classifieds, enter, vote and participate in campaigns, and more. It’s a place to share your green stories with friends and family as we all do our part to move our planet toward a greener and more sustainable future".
Have a try!

Ecotourism in Australia: A Chance for this Endangered Ecosystem
Two ecotourist project were distinguished for their achievements: The Wayoutback Desert Safarbased in Alice Springs, allows people to discover the outback without destroying it and Pacific Asia Tourism which described themselevs as a "research, consultancy and education/training organization focused on the capacity of sustainable tourism to contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals".
The more this kind of project we can find, the more Australia has some chances to preserve its unique ecosystem.

The Wonders of Australia Threatened by Mass Tourism and Climate Change
Moreover, Australia will be deeply affected by climate change, which adds another threat to its breathtaking wonders such as the Great Barrier Reef or the Koalas. Even if the country is going to the right direction with the election of Kevin Rudd, there is still a lot to do for the country which has the highest emissions of carbon dioxide per inhabitants in the world.

White Christmas or Green Christmas??
Christmas is in seven weeks time and I know some of you are thinking of holidays. But why going to a non environmentally friendly ski resort for queuing in the cold whereas you could be enjoying the sun somewhere else??Costa Rica seems well indicated both for the sun and for the environmentally friendly holidays it can provide. Find your new holidays plans here.
